Brainy Dogs
Brainy dogs is an award-winning scheme which supports our Headway Suffolk clients and their families with training their dogs, assisting them to help care for their dogs such as taking them to the vets or groomers, going out on walks or just general guidance.
Brainy dogs is and has always has been a unique project and Headway Suffolk are really keen on expanding that again when the time is right.
Out and about
If you do not have a four-legged friend, we can offer to bring one of our brainy dogs to you to visit you at your home or you may come into one of our many rehab hubs which include Ipswich and Bury which are our main hubs or our satellite hubs which currently our Leiston, Hadleigh, Newmarket and Sudbury but we do plan on expanding to other areas.

Innovation Award Winner 2023
Brainy dogs is an award-winning scheme. Due to our funding stopping to support this worthy project, we are now looking at rebooting our Brainy dog’s scheme which supports our Headway Suffolk clients and their families with training and assisting them to help care for their dogs, such as taking them to the vets or groomers, going out on walks or just general guidance.
In the Ipswich Hub
Here at Headway Suffolk we understand dogs are like family members and offer you emotional support and company. Which is why Headway Suffolk want to support our clients with caring for your dogs or bring the support to you in dog form.

At the Ipswich hub
After a brain injury or neurological condition people can experience a personality change which may result in them losing friends and family. The dogs fill the gap that this leaves.

Out for a walk
Clients are supported to go on walks with the dogs, play with the dogs, help train the dogs, groom the dogs or just do nothing but have a cuddle!
